Trident also offers "a comprehensive women's health center offering mammography services, osteoporosis testing, ultrasound and an educational resource room - all in one convenient location." In addition mammograms can be scheduled at Summerville Medical Center and Moncks Corner Medical Center.

Trident Hospital offers childbirth education classes. To register, please call call Trident HealthFinders at (843)797-FIND (3463). Other classes include:

  • Childbirth Preparation: The purpose of this class is to teach couples about labor and delivery.  Topics will include admission procedure, pain interventions, labor and the coach's role, delivery of the baby and a tour of the labor and delivery suite. Classes fill quickly, so enroll early and ask to take a class during your seventh month of pregnancy.  Cost:  $45.
  • Breastfeeding Preparedness: This class gives the expectant mother an overview of breastfeeding.  The class covers many topics such as nursing the baby for the first time, appropriate techniques and prevention of breastfeeding problems.  Attendance is recommended prior to delivery and fathers, or significant others, are encouraged to attend. Cost: Free
  • Newborn Care: This fun and informative class is designed to prepare parents for baby's arrival.  The class focuses on nursery admission procedures, baby's physical needs, bathing diapering and dressing, feeding and preparing the home for baby. Cost:  Free.
